UWRFA HELD ANNUAL GENERAL CONGRESS -2022

The Upper West Region Football Assocaion has held its annual general congress at the Wa Regional Library on Thursday ahead of the new football season

Alhaji SD Yahaya,chairman of the RFA in his opening remarks congratulated Wa Power SC,Biyad77Stars and Wa United for securing MTN FA Cup qualification.

The FA Chairman revealed that before the commencement of last season 80 referees in the region benefited from a workshop organised under the auspices of the RFA and certificates were awarded.

He added further that match commissioners also benefited from a similar workshop were certificates were awarded to the beneficeries.

In the RFA quest to ameliorate the plight of clubs assisted them in footing part of the officiating fees last season and will continue to do same for the clubs this season.

He announced that 23 Divsion Two League clubs,7 Division Three League clubs,12 juvenile league clubs and 4 Division One women’s league clubs registered to participate in the coming league season.

For the first time the RFA is to organise a division three league in the region with the 7 newly registered clubs to participate he added.

He admonished defunct clubs who still parade themselves as club owners should desist from such since those clubs are not more in the system according to the GFA.

The RFA chairman presented the financial report detailing the performance of his outfit.

He said the GFA has given the RFA footballs for onwards distribution to clubs.

Mr.Issah Asamoah, the division two league board chaiman gave a brief report about last seaon division two league and congratulated Maana FC for securing a division one qualification.

The Juvenile league board chairman, Mr Abu Polibu narrated how Wa Yaasin Colts qualified to represent the region in KGL tournament in Accra.

Congress came to a closure with a special prayers for the BlackStars to succeed at the mundial.

The commencement of the division two league is slated for 7-8 January 2023.
