The Renaissance of Tingan Maximus! Wa Power SC’s Versatile Captain

Gifted with technique, pace, agility, strength, energy and every nitty gritty required in making it to the highest level in Football, Maximus regained his form and feast in the 2022/2023 season in the UWRFA Division II League.

Undoubtedly one of the most talented Youngsters in Association Football in the Upper West Region, yet had struggles in seasons before in finding tune to his side’s Attacking prowess.

He rediscovered glory in picking form playing in new roles under Coach Kandumah John during a stellar campaign that landed Wa Power SC in Division One League for the first time in the Club’s 25 years in existence.

Originally a Winger/ Attacking Midfielder, Tingan Maximus enjoyed life on the pitch with defensive midfield duties for much part of the 2022/2023 season during the MTN FA Cup and group stages of the league.

An extraordinary display against Unity FC in the FA Cup Preliminary round did not go unnoticed as He was named among the top performers in that game by the competition organizers after a 1-0 victory.

In the league, Maximus was ever present for Wa Power SC as He switched positions severally in midfield and in the defensive flanks as they endured a 19 game unbeaten streak.

He exhibited leadership skills as Vice-Captain on and off the pitch as well in addition to His capabilities as a Footballer.

Maximus played 17 of the total 19 games, commanding 15 starts. In the Middle League He became one of few players to play every single minute of action as competition heated.

Slotted in at right-back, He executed the role exceptionally very well to the admiration of fans and pundits. His ball winning ability, neat tackling, pace, interceptions and aerial prowess were crucial in stopping the dangerous wingers that came His way.
