MTN FA Cup: Wa Power SC defeat TF Exponential to book Round 64 spot

The Heavyweight encounter lived up to the billing as both sides proved a hard nut to crack in the opening stages of the game despite several attacking threats.

In a repeat of the final of last season’s Upper West Division 2 League final, the game was hugely anticipated to be a contest of ‘repeat or revenge’ affair after Wa Power SC earned their place in Division One League beating TF Exponential in June early this year.

The first half ended goalless with an end to end stuff, meanwhile Wa Power SC took full control of the second half as they scored just 5 minutes after the break through Talisman Issahaku Wahid with a well placed effort from a beautiful cut back from Mohammed Mabrouk.

The lead was doubled after 62 minutes after substitute Songbaare Cidoth found Issahaku Wahid unmarked in the box, slotting in his second on the day from a header.

The game was then put to bed as TF Exponential were reduced to 10 men after Defender Abubakar Kashaf was given an early shower for handling the ball to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Midfield Kingpin Iddrisu Abdul Nafiw sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to put the icing on the cake in a 0-3 victory for the away side Wa Power SC.

Both Teams continues their preparations for their various leagues, TF Exponential will seek to take a step further from their runners up finish in the Upper West Division 2 last season by becoming Regional Champions. Whiles Wa Power SC visit Tamale on Thursday for MatchDay 4 of the Division One League against Tamale City.
