WE ARE WORKING HARD TO FIX THE DEFENCE – COACH ODOOM
Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Edward Odoom has said the technical team is working hard in training to fix the leakages that occurred in defence in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) game with AshantiGold SC.
The game played at the Accra Sports Stadium last Tuesday evening, ended 2-2 with the visitors twice coming from behind to draw level as the spoils were shared.
Some observers of the league have raised concerns about the team’s defence, especially how Hearts lost concentration in the last minute of the game allowing the Miners to score and snatch a point.
Coach Odoom was asked about this issue at the post-match press conference and, he admitted that it was a momentary loss of concentration at the back that allowed AshGold to score the late equalizer and that, this will be addressed.
“We had an excellent preseason campaign and, we worked on so many areas of our game”, he later told Hearts Media.
The gaffer said, “this will be addressed at training this week and was positive that the system will bounce back to normalcy going into the upcoming games.
“It was a very painful way to concede with virtually the last kick of the game and, we will work on this to correct the situation”, Coach Odoom added.
Hearts will play their next GPL game – a Matchday Three encounter away to Inter Allies in a capital derby to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.
