UW: Top Talent; Meet Hafiz Adams one of Upper West’s pride
The Upper West region is blessed with numerous God given talents in the world of football all over the nation and overseas as well and Hafiz Adams is counted among the lots as one of such talents to have come out of the region chasing his dreams of becoming a top model footballer
Hafiz, started his playing career in the region with colts club Wa Anokye stars known as ” young crocodiles” where he developed during the ranks at the club to the divisional level
The now renowned right back by trade started off as a striker in his youth and some part of his school football before conversion to a defender where he has now mastered his trade professionally
With series of impressive and mindblowing performances at the divisional level for the lower tier side Wa Anokye stars, his talents were spotted by Ghana premier league side Wa Allstars in the region
He joined the youth ranks at the premier league side but in no time got promoted to the first team following illustrious displays with the youth team
Hafiz integration at the first team was phenomenal and he became a core component of the side at a youthful age where he made the right back spot in the club his own through out his stay with the Wa based club
Known for his versatility at the back line as he can play both centre and wide in defence, his leadership qualities both on and off the pitch at that youthful stage got him the captain armed band to be come the youngest to leader the club
The athletic right back widely admired for his pinpoint crosses and adventurous runs on the flanks became a spoke about name in the nation for so many and was fans favourite as well at the Wa Sports Stadium
He wrote his name into history books following the club’s historic and outstanding run to the 2016 Ghana premier league trophy to become the first player to have captained a club from the Northern part of Ghana to the elite trophy in the nation
After a premier league and super cup silverwares under his stewardship at the club, it was inevitably clear the defender would move on as numerous clubs both home and abroad came calling for his service
Dormaa based club Aduana stars won the race to have the signature of the versatile defender tieing him to a three year deal to end his near decade stay with his boyhood club
Still at the service of the two times Ghana premier league champions, Aduana stars much is still expected from the adventurous right back and hopes are high ahead of the upcoming premier league season in the nation
