USL: Solomon Asante wins 2019 USL Championship Most Valuable Player of the Year
Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante has capped off his impressive display to the USL Championship season with the competition’s most coveted award after he was named the Championship Most Valuable Player of the 2019 season
The Phoenix Rising attacker and skipper was announced the league’s Most Valuable Player on Thursday night
Solomon Asante won the Championship Golden Boot award of the season with 22 goals to his name throughout the season with only three goals short of the USL Championship single-season record
The Ghanaian also set two single-season records in the season with 17 assists and a combined goals and assists of 39
Solomon Asante was also named in the 2019 USL Championship All-League First Team
Head coach of Phoenix Rising FC, Rick Schantz was also named the 2019 USL Championship Coach of the season after guiding the club to the USL Championship title as well as their record breaking 20 winning streak in the season
