San Jose Earthquakes drew first blood to open the scoring through American forward Chris Wondolowski in the 20th minute of the match before two quick goals within three minutes turned the contest in favor of New York City FC as American midfielder Keaton Parks and Romanian midfielder Alexandru Mitrita scored in the 40th and 43rd minutes respectively to earn New York City FC a hard fought victory at home
