Upper West Region Liverpool Football Club Fans Organizes Get Together Ahead Of The New Season
Fans of English champions, Liverpool Football Club in the Upper West Region of Ghana organised maiden get together ahead of the new season
The event was in connection with celebrating the club’s 30 years wait for a premier league which was achieved at the end of last season
Fans from all corners of the region gathered in the regional capital to witness their first ever meeting where they were treated to some drinks and food as they celebrated the club’s triumph
The event saw over fifty Liverpool Football Club fans convey at Mommy’s Kitchen in the Upper West region
Upper West Regional Nasara Coordinator, Mr. Alhaji Osman Mahmoud known in the region as ‘Welfare’ was the chairman of the occasion
In a speech on the day he said ” I am very happy to be a part of this family and also to have witnessed such a great day”
” It has been a dream since supporting Liverpool Football Club in the region to have organised such an event so 20 plus years ago which never came through but am grateful to all those who took time off their busy schedules to organise such a colourful get together ”
Mr. Alhaji Osman Mahmoud concluded says ” I hope this won’t be the end of such gatherings but many more to come and also urged members to make a monthly routine to always organise such events including clean up exercises in the region, organising football matches against rivalry supporters in the region”
Other dignitaries to have graced the occasion included Mr. Abass Bawa lecturer at Wa Polytechnic, Mr, Vasco an official supporters member since 1997, renowned radio sports presenter Naa Sule, coach Razak Daud and political activist Mr.Khalid were all in attendance
