#THEBESTAWARDS: Lionel Messi Beats Virgil Van Dijk to Win ‘THE BEST AWARD’

The biggest names in football are out for the FIFA football awards in Milan. There were eight main awards plus the inaugural Fifa/Fifpro men’s and women’s World11s.

Lionel Messi was crowned The Best FIFA men’s player and Megan Rapinoe wining the The Best women’s player.

Liverpool football club stalwarts Alisson Becker and Virgil Van Dijk won The Best goalkeeper and defender respectively.

Liverpool manager Jügen Klopp won The Best FIFA manager of the year ahead of Manchester City’s Pep Guadiola and Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham Hotspur.

The following players made the Fifpro men’s World11:

Alisson, Ramos, De Ligt, Van Dijk, Marcelo, De Jong, Modric, Hazard, Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe.
