Southampton FC confirm the signing of Ghanaian Defender Mohammed Salisu

Southampton have confirmed the signing of Mohammed Salisu from Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid.

The Ghanaian defender has joined the Premier League outfit on a 4-year deal reportedly worth £10.9m.

The 21-year old becomes the second player to arrive at Southampton during the summer transfer window after Kyle Walker -Peters joined Permanently from Tottenham Hotspurs.

Salisu made 31 appearances out of Valladolid’s 38 La Liga matches in the just ended season. It was his debut season with the first team after graduating from the B team.

Mohammed Salisu this season won 33 tackles, made 243 clearances, dispossessed only 4 times and made a staggering 278 recoveries.

He further contributed with a goal and an assist to help his side place 13th in La liga.

Salisu is yet to be capped by the Black Stars.
