Somalia: General Daud Cup; Ghanaian defender Zakaria Issahaque handed tough draw with his club side Elman SC as they are drawn in group with league champions Mogadishu City FC

Former Wa Allstars defender Zakaria Issahaque and his club Elman SC have been handed a tough draw ahead of the upcoming General Daud Cup competition in Somalia

The competition is a pre season tournament organised before the new season kick start in the Somali top-flight league and comprises of sixteen teams drawn into four groups of four as they battle each other for the coverted trophy

Elman SC are in group alongside defending champions Mogadishu City FC, Horseed SC and Dekedda FC

The competition is named after one of the great soldiers of the country and it is played to usher in the new league season in the country

The competition kicks off on Thursday, October 17 with defending champions Mogadishu City FC facing Dekedda FC in the opening match of the competition

The Somali top-flight league is set to start later next month from the 11th November, 2019
