Shot Stopper Yakubu Ismail continues Superlative Performance in UWR Div II League

Manning the goal post for minnows Wechiau Young Hippos in the Upper West Division Two League this season, The Hippos no. 1 ranks among the top Goalkeepers with staggering stats for a side that is less fancied to provide real competition.

Having played a total of 11 games this season, Ismail boasts of 6 clean sheets to his name and conceded just 6 goals between his sticks.

His side Wechiau Young Hippos sit 5th in the standings of Zone 2 with nothing to fight for, but Yakubu Ismail’s Heroics is catching the eyes of Top sides in the Region going forward.

Yakubu Ismail and Young Hippos will however seek to end the season strongly with two remaining games against Biyad 77 Stars and Kalibi SC.

Nicknamed Addo, the 25-years old Goalkeeper has made the the no. 1 spot his side after making Brilliant saves, proper Defensive Organization, exhibiting his ball playing capabilities and long range passing and helping his side build from the back.

His rich playing career includes stints at Wa Yaasin, Manwe Hill Stars, Tietaa FC and Ziko Babies FC.
