PRESIDENT CUP: Kumasi Asante Kotoko play host to arch Rivals Accra Hearts of Oak
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the venue for this year’s Presidential Cup. It’ll feature between not just the two biggest clubs in Ghana but the fiercest encounter in the local scene.
It is a local derby and derby matches are special because of the bragging rights and the high demand and expectation that comes with it. These are games fans don’t want to blink an eye when watching.
The last time the two sides faced each other in the Presidential Cup, they played a pulsating 1-1 draw before Kumasi Asante Kotoko eventually winning 3-1 on penalties.
Hearts Coach Kim Grant however thinks his side is now a totally different squad and are far better off than the team that lost to Kotoko last year.
He added that they’ll definitely make things difficult for the Porcupine Warriors despite playing away from home.
The Presidential Cup is a game played every year to honor the sitting President of Ghana.
3pm is kickoff time.
