New Look Wa Suntaa Sporting Club Begins DOL Season At Home Against Yendi Gbewaa FC

Newly rebranded and restructured Wa Suntaa Sporting Club begin division one league season at home to northern brothers Yendi Gbewaa FC on Sunday

The Wa based club head into the encounter with revenge on their minds haven lost 2-3 away from home last season to same opponents on the opening day of the season

Wa Suntaa Sporting Club squandered a two goal lead to loss the game by 2-3 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale

The club have seen transformation in all aspects of the game ahead of the new season including management, technical as well as the playing body

With their aims and ambitions higher this time round in their quest to seal qualification into top flight football in the nation, the club appointed veteran head coach Orlando Wellington as head coach ahead of the campaign

Two former Wa All-Stars players in the persons of Saeed Adnan and Mba Ali have both been drafted into the technical team as assistant coach and goalkeepers trainer respectively

On the part of the playing body, the club augmented the squad with ten new signings including former Portsmouth FC player Hashim Jallo and two former Techiman XI Wonders players Issahaku Wahidu and Salifu Cisse ahead of the season

Old guns Abdulai Samad, Frimpong, Dennis Votere and core of the squad are still with the club ahead of the season

Head coach Orlando Wellington will be absentee from the dugout for the season’s opener due to a surgery he had on his neck

Assistant coach Saeed Adnan and the rest of the technical team will take responsibility come Sunday for the game

Wa Suntaa Sporting Club concluded preparations for the season with a thumping 3-0 victory over Wa Yaasin FC and will hope to translate such results over their opponents on Sunday

With the easing of restrictions on football fans by the government, football fans will be welcomed back in the park for the game but must be masked up as well

Kick off is at 3:00pm and the gate fee is 5 cedis flat across board on Sunday 10th January
