MTN FA Cup! Yakubu Nuhu & Tingan Maximus named Top Performers as Wa Power SC crash out Unity FC

3rd tier side Wa Power SC pulled one of the biggest shocks in the preliminaries of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup by eliminating Division One League Zone 1B side Unity FC at their backyard.

Center-Forward Garry Philip’s 20th minute goal separated the two teams, he unfortunately limped off just afterwards.

It was the turn of the Midfield and Defense to protect the precious lead at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem.

The two Captains on the pitch showed leadership as they fought well in all angles, Center-Half Yakubu Nuhu showed his aerial ability and was also dominant in ground duels.

Maximus enjoyed his new role under Coach Kandumah John, showing defensive and tackling qualities as part of the 2-men double pivot midfield.

Albert Aniah also gained recognition as the best forward in the game as the Unity FC Winger proved his worth in 1v1 situations to trouble the Wa Power SC defensive set up, unfortunately for him a mastermind tactics from Coach Kandumah John reduced his efficiency as Maximus dealt with him in most part of the second half.

The three players are set to be rewarded by MTN in a form of airtime.

Wa Power SC now awaits the draw for Round 64 later this month, where Premier League Clubs will join the competition as 128 Clubs remain.
