Kuwait: In-form Rashid Sumaila was influential for Al Qadsia SC in their stalemate at home against Al Kuwait

Former Ebusua Dwarfs and Asante Kotoko defender Rashid Sumaila was influential at the back line for Al Qadsia SC in their 1-1 stalemate at home against Al Kuwait in the Kuwaiti top-flight league on Friday afternoon

The one time Ghana premier league best defender lasted the entire duration of the match and played a phenomenal role at the back enroute to his side’s draw

It was a battle of leaders as Al Qadsia seek to overthrow their opponents at the top end of the league table with a win while Al Kuwait were also hopeful of extending their stay on top of the table

Brazilian international Lucas Gaucho netted as early as the sixth minute to give Al Qadsia SC an early lead before Al Kuwait failed to draw level after missing from the penalty spot in the 25th minute of the match

Fida scored the only goal of the second half to pull parity for Al Kuwait as both sides failed in their efforts to find the match winner on the day

Al Qadsia remain second on the table with eight points two short of leaders Al Kuwait after four matches into the new league season
