Issahaku Wahid’s first half strike marks first goal of the 2023/2024 Access Bank DOL
The Experienced and skillful Attacking Midfielder made a return to Ghana’s second tier Football after a two years spell with Wa Power SC in the Upper West Regional Division II.
Wa Power SC were out to make history playing their first Division One League game in their 25 years of existence.
It did not take long for Issahaku Wahid to find the back of the net after 7 minutes from a well laid pass from Forward Mohammed Mabrouk.
The game however ended in a 2-1 loss as Maana FC came back to win it through a brace from debutant Ibrahim Alhassan in an electrifying Derby game in the Upper West Region.
Wa Power SC will seek to bounce back on MatchDay 2, when they take on fellow newly promoted Victory Club Warriors SC at Home next weekend.
The experience and cohesion of key experienced players such as Iddrisu Abdul-Nafiw, Ahmed Satar, Issahaku Wahid, as well as Strong Technical bench headed by Coach Kandumah John will be heavily counted on as they seek to make a strong statement in their maiden season.
