HEARTS OF OAK FIRST BEFORE ANY INDIVIDUAL GLORY – RAZAK
Winger Patrick Razak said he puts Hearts Oak first in all his thinking ahead of any other consideration as the new Ghana football season rolls on.
The pacy forward who has returned to the club for a second spell with the Phobians, wons the Man-of-the-match award as Hearts of Oak shared the spoils with AshantiGold in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Matchday Two encounter played at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
He provided the assist for Kwadjo Obeng Jnr to score his second of the day but, the Phobians could not hold on to the lead after AshGold scored a last-minute equalizer as the game ended 2-2 in the nation’s capital.
Razak’s performance won him the most valuable player of the day award on his second full debut for Hearts of Oak and although he was happy with his performance, the fact that his side could not win the day troubled him.
“Yes, I am happy with my output, but, we could not win this one and, I cannot go home happy with the result”, Razak told Hearts News after the game.
“The general interest of the team is what is important and not individual awards. I will continue to fight for the team this season and hopefully, we will win something at the end of the campaign”, he added.
He received the backing of his coach, Edward Odoom who was pleased with the output of the winger but also disappointed with the result.
Razak rejoined Hearts of Oak prior to the start of the 2020/21 season after leaving Guinean giants Horoya AC by mutual consent last year.
