GPL WK 3 ROUND UP: Absolute Scenes in Kumasi, Yahya Mohammed is a Box-Office, Aduane Stars, Ashgold Maintains 100% Start, Hearts of Oak Back to Winning Ways

Match day 3 of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League didn’t disappoint as it produced some fascinating results across all match venues.

But we cannot gloss over the violent commotion that took place at the Baba Yara Stadium between supporters of Asante Kotoko and the security personnel, it was unfortunate, unnecessary and must be treated with all the contempt it deserves.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko was tamed following a loan goal defeat by a resilient Berekum Chelsea side. But Ampem Dacosta’s red card took center stage as it precipitated into a chaotic scenes, home fans went haywire, took the law into their own hands by throwing missiles onto the pitch to register their displeasure thereby bringing the game into disrepute.

Berekum Chelsea’s victory against Kotoko makes for a beautiful narrative, it means they’ve defeated both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak away from home. The giants killers.

In-form Yahya Mohammed continued from where he left it with a scintillating display by grabbing 2 goals to add to his tally against a struggling King Faisal to ensure his sides 100% start to the season.

Both Aduana Stars and Ashanti Gold have maintained a 100% start to the season after winning all their opening three games of the season.

Accra Hearts of Oak managed to polish off the pressure that was piling on them with a hard earned 2-1 victory over Ebusua Dwarfs following some beautiful taken free-kicks by marksmen Joseph Esso and Kofi Kodzi.

Karela United edged Inter Allies with a 2-1 triumph to grind their first win of the season making the latter suffer their second defeat in the process. Meanwhile Bechem United grabbed their second win with a solitary goal against limping Olympics.

Liberty Professionals are yet to win a game after picking a third consecutive draw of the season following a one-all stalemate with Medeama SC at home grounds.

The crisis continue for King Faisal, Accra Great Olympics, Eleven Wonders and Ebusua Dwarfs as all four teams lost all their opening three games and are yet to pick a single point in the campaign.

Two games ended without a goal being registered. Legon Cities made it difficult for host Dreams to deal with, as it ended 0-0, whilst Elmina Sharks vs WAFA followed similar fashion.
