GFA PRESIDENCY: Presidential Hopefuls to Pay not more than Ghc5000 for Nomination Form.

The Ghana Football Association Extraordinary Congress was a success even though there was pretty much some agitations that took a bit of shine away from the meeting.

But essentially the ultimate goal of the Congress was met as delegates have accepted the adoption of the drafted statutes the NC presented. This means the tenure of the Normalization Committee is gradually coming to an end.

Of the 123 delegates present, 115 voted ‘YES’ in support of the adoption of the new GFA Statutes. The required 75% was met and thus the Statutes have been duly adopted.

Right after making it clear that the Roadmap for the GFA election will be communicated in due course, Normalization Committee Chairman Dr. Kofi Amoah informed reporters that those who have aspirations of becoming the next GFA President may have to pay not more than Ghc5000 for nomination forms.

The likes of Dreams fc CEO Kurt Okraku and Bank roller of Tema Youth Osei Kweku Palmer et al have already made their intentions clear that they’ll love to head the GFA.

Former GFA Vice Presidents in the erstwhile embattled Kwesi Nyantakyi’s administration Fred Pappoe and George Afriyie have all declared interests in the top echelon of Ghana football Association.

Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo has also been linked to contest for the post.

Some of the takeaways of today’s Congress are that:

– There are now 12 members on the Executive Committee (ExCo)

– 120 Delegates accepted (used to be 123)

– A 2 year term of Office (4years a term) for the President and 3 years for other ExCo members.
