GFA PRESIDENCY: Amanda Clinton; The Lone Woman in the Battlefield

Out of the six aspirants cleared to contest for the presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), a certain Amanda Clinton is the only female among the lot.

She’s actually the first female in history to put her herself into the contest for the uppermost position of the Ghana Football Association. The presidency.

No, you’re not dreaming, it happened. The vetting committee passed her fit to contest for the upcoming elections.

Amanda Clinton’s warm, infectious personality shone through the media since her involvement in legal tussles between the erstwhile embattled Kwesi Nyantakyi’s administration and the government and also when she represented in court a section of aggrieved customers of the defunct Menzgold.

She was a known figure in the camp of the former GFA President and many had thought she was was never going to make the final list as a result.

Here she is holding high the flag of gender equity to the delight of gender activists.

If elections were won based on compassion and empathy alone then Amanda Clinton is the GFA President in waiting.

The teeming delegates may look beyond her being a just female and treat her as any one of the five presidential hopefuls.

She’ll battle her way out with former GFA Presidents George Afriyie and Fred Pappoe, CEO of Dreams fc Kurt E.S Okraku, Owner of Phar Rangers fc Nana Yaw Amponsah and George Ankoma Mensah.

The elections is scheduled to take place on 25th October 2019.
