Feature: Time To Stop The Use Of Hand Shake As MVP Award In The Division One League
The idea of using hand shakes as a reward for Most Valuable Players in the ongoing division one league has to be critically looked at by the hierarchy of the football governing body of the country
The league board together with the Ghana FA should find solution to the inappropriate manner of awarding such players on match days rather than the mere hand shakes they receive week in week out as appreciation for their efforts during match
Better incentives and award schemes have been designed for the top flight league as well as the women’s league to reward such standout players during match days and at least if not much but a little of such can be done for those in the division one league as well
Such rewards are most cherished and are for future purposes for the players and there is no way mere hand shake can be cherished or preserved for future purpose by such players
Imagine having a trophy cabinet in your house and getting hand shakes as reward for emerging as MVP in numerous matches which will inevitable mean your cabinet will still remain empty because you can’t preserve the hand shakes
At least if not for anything one sponsorship should be secured to take care of the situation to help in motivating the young lads in the division
It’s not too late for authorities to find solutions to the alarming issue in the division one league by securing a sponsorship package for the league
