Exclusive: Wa Numbu Football Club set to return to the football scenes after two years absence
With football set to return to the nation and the regions as well, numerous clubs are preparing towards the upcoming new football season and clubs in the Upper West region are not left out
With twenty-six divisional clubs in the Upper West region, more are expected to join in the upcoming division two season in the region and one of such clubs is the return of former division two club Wa Numbu Football Club to the scenes
In an exclusive chat with the Chief Executive Officer and owner of the club, Mr. Ali Gbontaa Ubeidu he disclosed that the club is set to return
” I can confirm the return of the club to the football scenes two years after the Regional Football Association expel us from the divisional league ”
The football club was expelled in the region following their failure to honor match day matches in their previous campaign in the top-flight league in the region
The loud talking football administration further says ” We have assembled all the needed documents as we gear up for re-registering the club for the upcoming league season in the region and we are hopeful of completing all the necessary documentations in due time for the season”
Mr. Ali Gbontaa further stated ” We are returning to the scenes as a better and well organised club than we were in our previous seasons in the league and we are hoping to take the league by storm”
With the return of Wa Numbu FC, the region is expected to have more clubs coming into the scenes ahead of the upcoming regional football season
The return of the club comes at a time where it has been rumoured that Mr. Ali Gbontaa Ubeidu has parted ways with division one side Wa Suntaa Sporting Club where he served as the technical director of the club as well as founding member of the club
