The midfielder was replaced in the 77th minute of the match following the injury while compatriot Lumor Agbenyenu remained on the bench throughout the encounter for RCD Mallorca
A goal in each half of the match meant Espanyol has now lost their first game on the road in the season while victory for RCD Mallorca takes them a step closer to leaving the bottom three of the league table as they sits 18th on the table
Croatian forward Ante Budimir broke the deadlock of the encounter with eight minutes to end the first half of the match as RCD Mallorca head to the break with a goal advantage
