Europe: Ernestina Abambila wins first trophy with new club Assi IF in Sweden

Former Sekondi Hasaacas ladies midfielder, Ernestina Abambila has won her first silverware with Swedish lower tier side Assi IF

The midfielder helped her side to defeat Infjardens 2-0 in the grand finale of the Norrbotten Cup on Tuesday

The former Black Princesses star lasted the entire duration of the match and was influential in her side’s victory

She joined the club this year after successful stints in Greece with Aris Thessaloniki

Abambila before leaving for Europe won three national women’s league titles with Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies before stints in Europe with Belarus side FC Minsk and quiet recently with Greek side Aris Thessaloniki

She featured in the 2017/18 Uefa women’s champions league making history to become the first ever Ghanaian female player to score a goal in the elite competition in Europe against Slovenian side Ljubljana
