Europe: Defender Nicholas Opoku sees red as Atlanta whip Udinese in a eight goal thriller

Black Meteors centre back Nicholas Opoku endured a tough afternoon on Sunday for Udinese after he was sent off their 1-7 walloping by Atlanta in the Italian top-flight league

The talented defender received a second caution in the 33rd minute of the contest haven received his first eight minutes into the match

Udinese took the lead in the 11th minute of the match through Stefano Okaka before Atlanta fought back to take a 3-1 lead into the break with a brace from Iosep Ilicic and a further goal from Luis Muriel

Atlanta took advantage of the numerical strength to net four more goals in the second half of the match

Luis Muriel grabbed his hat-trick with 25th minutes left on the clock before Amad Diallo Traore added the seventh with seven minutes to end proceedings on the day

Defeat means Udinese sits 11th on the table after nine matches with ten points. They return home against AS Roma on Wednesday, October 30
