Emmanuel Gyasi Eyes Black Stars Call Up After Securing Serie A Promotion with Spezia Calcio
Striker Emmanuel Gyasi is targeting an invite to the senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana after powering Italian side Spezia Calcio to the Italian Serie A.
Gyasi’s sole strike for Spezia Calcio in the first leg of the Italian Serie B playoff sent the club to the top-flight for the first time in 144 years.
Spezia had the best league position and therefore reached the top-flight despite losing 1-0 in the second leg.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the 26-year-old attacker mentioned that he would be glad if he gets an invitation to represent Ghana at the international stage.
“My dream is to play for the senior national team [Black Stars]. I believe hard work and determination can get me into the Black Stars.”
“I have two mentors, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan.
This week, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the qualifiers to the next AFCON and FIFA World Cup tournament will begin in November.
Gyasi will be hoping to receive an invite from Coach C.K Akonnor ahead of Ghana’s double-header against Sudan.
