DIVISION II LEAGUE CLUBS IN THE UPPER WEST RECEIVE THEIR SHARE OF THE FIFA COVID-19 RELIEF FUND

As some measures put in place by FIFA to ameliorate the plight of associated members, the FIFA Covid-19 fund was set up as a mechanic of enhancing the livelihood of clubs, which are troubled financially by the pandemic.

The Ghana Football Association upon receiving the first trenche of their share of the fund , have disbursed 40% of the $10,000 promised by the FA to the various Regional Football Associations.

The Upper West Regional Football Association, in line of duty to do the needful, invited some 31 Division II League Clubs who stands to benefit from fund to a short brief meeting at the RFA secreteriate to bring them to speed, how the funds will be disbursed to the beneficiary clubs.

The Regional Football Association Executive Committee after a consultative discussions with the Financial Committee agreed upon , all Division II League clubs in the region should benefit from the fund wheather you have registered for your cards or not with the GFA.

The sum of 23,000 Ghana cedis representing 40% of the total sum of $10,000 was received for further onwards disbursement to the clubs .

The RFA EXCO after two hours of consultative meeting deliberating upon how much should each club stands to benefit from the fund unanimously agreed that, 20,000 Ghana cedis should be disbursed to the 31 Division II League Clubs.

Each of the Division II League Clubs will pocket home 640 Ghana cedis as their share of the first trenche of the FIFA Covid-19 Relief Fund .

The remaining 3,000 cedis will be used for the daily up keep of the RFA secreteriate and with some support to be born out of the amount to support Jevenil league clubs.

Alhaji SD Yahaya admonished all the clubs with regards to the Club licence, and urged them to secure the business certificate before the October, 15 deadline to stand the chance of benefiting from the second trenche of the fund ,which will be disbursed in January, 2021.

The former Wa Suntaa SC assistant coach, Sulemani Rufai , a rep of Tumu Real 24 Hours FC on behalf of all the beneficiary Clubs thanked the FA chairman and the EXCO for providing leadership with regards to how all clubs stand to benefit from the fund.
