CHAN QUALIFIER: Ghana Misses Out in 2020 CHAN Tournament
After losing narrowly by a loan goal to nil at home soil in the first leg, the return leg wasn’t any better as Burkina Faso held Black Stars ‘B’ to a goalless draw in Ouagadougou.
Yannick Pognongo’s late-minute strike in the first-leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium proved to be the difference.
And that is the third straight time Ghana failed to qualify and the second successive time Burkina Faso denied Black Stars ‘B’ a qualification berth to CHAN tournament.
Burkina Faso join hosts Cameroon, Mali, Morocco, Tunisia, Togo, Niger, DR Congo, Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe for the championship.
The 2020 CHAN tournament is scheduled to come off between January and February next year.
