CAF U-23: Black Meteors to Fly out Tonight for the Return leg against the Young Fennecs of Algeria
Ghana Black Meteors will today fly out to Algiers to play the return leg against the Fennec Foxes of Algeria.
The age restricted football Championships will be the third edition of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the men’s under 23 national teams of Africa.
The Championships will take place in Egypt on the 8-22 November 2019 and will determine which three African teams will compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Japan.
The Ghanaians were held to a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg played in Accra.
We’re told the Ministry of Youth and Sports has asked the Technical team to travel with only 18 players which means coach Ibrahim Tanko and his men will have to drop 5 of the players that played in the first leg.
Below is the 18 man squad:Kwami Baah, Richmond Ayi, Kingsley Fobi, Gideon Mensah, Zakaria Fuseini, Nicolas Opoku, Majeed Ashimeru, Yaw Yaboah, Osman Bukari, Joseph Paintsil, Dauda Mohammed, Bernard Tekpetey, Joel Fameye, William Dankyi, Habib Mohammed, Isaac Twum, Emmanuel Cudjoe, and Michael Agbekornu.
The team will leave the shores of Ghana tonight by transiting through Ivory Coast to Algiers for the return leg on Tuesday.
