Caf CC: Inspirational skipper Shafiu Mumuni’s hat-trick powers Ashgold pass Akonangui FC in Obuasi

Former Wa Allstars forward Shafiu Mumuni was in scintillating form as his first half hat-trick proved enough to power Ashgold into the next round of qualifiers of the Caf confederation cup against their Equatorial Guinean counterparts at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium

The home side wasted no time by making their intentions clear from kick off with a second minute penalty which was calmly converted by their skipper to give them the lead

Shafiu rounded off the opposing goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the game after a defence blunder at the back from the visiting team to double his tally as well as his side’s lead in the game

The skipper completed his hat-trick in the 8th minute of the contest and his team’s third of the game

Ashgold will now face last season’s finalists RS Berkane of Morocco in the next round of the qualifying stages after winning the double legged fixture against Akonangui FC 4-1 on aggregate
