Breaking: Hossam El Badry is New Egyptian Coach
The Egyptian Football Association has named Hossam El Badry as the national team’s new head coach. He succeeds Javier Aguirre who was sacked during the 2019 AFCON in Egypt after the host nation (Egypt) lost to South Africa in the last-16.
El Badry has both played and coached Al Ahly and has won several trophies with the Egyptian club. He has also coached Sudan’s Al Merreikh SC and Egypt’s Under 23.
His first assignment will be in November when Egypt will begin their quest to reach the 2021 African Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
In November he’ll be in charge of the Pharaohs as they play at home to Kenya and Togo.
The Egyptian FA announced El Badry’s mandate in a statement without any contractual details.
