Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah urges Ashantigold and Kotoko to beat their North African opponents in the Caf Confederation Cup and Caf Champions league tournaments respectively
Head coach of the senior national team, Black Stars, James Kwesi Appiah has urged both AshantiGold and Asante Kotoko to give their best as the two sides host North African sides RS Berkane and Asante Kotoko in the Caf Confederation Cup and Caf Champions league respectively this weekend
AshantiGold play host to Moroccan side RS Berkane in the first leg of the Confederation Cup on Saturday while Asante Kotoko host Tunisian outfit Etoile du Sahel on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium
Both clubs are hoping to book a qualification berth for the group stages of this season’s Caf Confederation Cup and Caf Champions league respectively
Kwasi Appiah has advised the technical hamdlers of Asante Kotoko to layout a strategy which will ensure the team plays as a unit
“I think Asante Kotoko has quality players at the moment but what is lacking is the telepathy to play as a team because of the introduction of a new coach and new players.”, he told Light FM
“All the players should put it at the back of their head that they are going to win. Each player should work hard individually and go out there to win’, he added
The coach cautioned both teams to avoid conceding first as it will demoralize the team
He urged supporters of both teams to support the teams to ensure both sides secure wins in their respective matches
