AshantiGold eliminated from CAF Confederations Cup

The miners were defeated by Salitas FC of Burkina Faso in the second leg encounter in Burkina Faso.

The home side won the game 2-1 on the day and on aggregate to progress to the next round of the competition. The first leg ended goalless in the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Salitas took the lead in the 22nd minute, and doubled their lead again before the visitors pulled one back just before half time through Attacking midfielder David Abagna.

AshantiGold pushed for a late equalizer which would have sent them to the next round, but all attempts proved futile, they however had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half.
