Asante Kotoko Celebrates 85TH Anniversary
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, also known as Asante Kotoko, is a professional football club from Kumasi, Ashanti Region in Ghana West Africa.
Their home grounds is based at Baba Yara Stadium in Amakom, Kumasi.
Asante Kotoko one of the power houses in Ghana football with a very strong fan base. Asante Kotoko also known as the porcupine warriors is also known for nurturing fine talent in Ghana football.
Players such as Awal Mohammed, Prince Anokye, Amos Frimpong, Harrison Afful and Micheal Akuffo. The porcupine warriors remain a force to reckon with in the Ghanaian Premier League.
They have been champions of the Ghana Premier League a record 23 times, have won the CAF Champions League twice. They have also won the FA cup nine times, Ghana Top 4 cup twice, Ghana annual republic day cup thrice, the Ghana swag cup twelth times and Ghana Telecom Gala thrice.
Asante Kotoko was adjudged African club of the century by International Football Federation of History and Statistics. The club is celebrating their 85th anniversary this 2020. Well, Asante Kotoko and their fans can sit back and reflect on all the past glory they have secured and with the appointment of a new CEO Mr. Amposah, the club seems to be heading toward the right direction. Asante Kotoko is preparing for the upcoming Ghana Premier League which will soon commerce when his excellence Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo gives the green light for football to start.
