Former Barlecona and Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto’o Fils has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 38
The four times African Best Player and three times Uefa champions league winner announced his decision to end his illustrious career via social media handle Instagram
With a professional career stretching to over twenty-two years for sixteen clubs in six clubs, the footballer has decided to hang his boots
Eto’o enjoyed most of playing career in Spain with la liga giants and with Inter Milan as well where he accumulated six trophies from both sides
He won the la liga title three times at FC Barcelona and two Uefa champions league trophies as well whiles at Inter Milan he won the Uefa champions league title under the guidance of Jose Mourinho
He has had stints in the premier league as well with Chelsea and Everton as well as stints in Russia and the UAE among others through out his glittering career
Samuel Eto’o holds the record of the highest goalscorer at Africa Cup of Nations with eighteen goals
He has scored 56 goals in 118 appearances of his country Cameroon. Guiding them to two Afcon titles as well as an Olympic gold medal in 2000 in Australia
Eto’o, undoubtedly one of the best strikers of the 21st century called on time to his blistering career after leaving Qatar SC earlier this year via Instagram posting
