Afcon U23: Nigeria U23 wallop Sudan U23 to seal a place in Egypt for the U23 Afcon Championship

Nigeria sealed a spot at the Afcon U23 tournament following a 5-0 thrashing of Sudan in the second leg of the qualifying round

The Nigerians went into the second leg trailing Sudan by one goal in the first leg of the double legged encounter but made amends to book a place at the Championship to be staged in Egypt later this year with a resounding 5-0 thumping of Sudan

A brace from Ndifreke Effiong coupled with further goals from Taiwo Awoniyi, Sunday Falaye and Ibrahim Sanusi sealed Nigeria’s place at the tournament

Nigeria will join seven other nations for the U23 Afcon Championship in Egypt with the top three representing Africa at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games
