Somali top-flight champions, Mogadishu City Football Club has been dealt an injury blow ahead of the new football season after defender Abubakari Kashaf suffered injury
The Wa born defender sustained a knee injury with just few days to the commencement of the 2019/20 season and set to be out for two weeks ruling him out of his side’s first two league matches
The towering centre back joined the Somali outfit this summer from lower tier side Wa Dondoli Discipline Youth FC
The defender has been scintillating for the capital club since joining and was outstanding for them throughout the off season tournament in the General Da’ud Cup Competition helping his side to finish as runners-up as they lost only one game in the six matches played throughout the competition
He helped them record four clean sheet on their way to the grand finale of the competition
Following his outstanding display for the club, he has been nominated for defender of the competition which is yet to be announced later
Mogadishu City Football Club will begin their title defence at home against Rajo FC on December 28
