Derick Osei Yaw joins English League One side Oxford United
Oxford United have completed the signing of French-born striker Derick Osei Yaw on a 2-year deal.
Derick played for France at U19 and was part of the French U20 team for 2017 Toulon tournament, after a bright start to his career at Toulouse.
The 21-year old recently played for FC Brest and has impressed Oxford manager Karl Robinson while on trial wth the U’s in Wales on a Training Camp last week.
Karl Robinson spoke of the player, “He is big and strong and a real athlete. He came into the group as a bit of an unknown quantity but he did really well and we look forward to working with him.”
Derick, who speaks good English, expressed his excitement about his new club.
“I like the way this club is set up. The Manager is very good and I have been made to feel very welcome. I have always enjoyed watching English football and this is a great challenge for me, one I am looking forward to a lot.”
The young striker is still available to play for Ghana at the senior level despite representing France at youth level.
