PRIDE OF DONDOLI: Community Park To Be Named After Black Stars Goalkeepers’ Trainer Issah Nahaju
Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer Issah Najahu is set to be honoured by his community members with the Dondoli ‘Wembley’ Park earmarked to be named after him, as reported by 442gh.com
The national star rose through the ranks of Rainbow Babies playing at the community based park and is now set to be honoured with his named edged into the history books of the park.
Issah Najahu hoisted high the flag of upper west region and the Dondoli Community at the international level with appearances at various World Cup championships with the junior national teams of Ghana.
As a former player of Prestea Mine Stars, Real Tamale United FC and Wa All Stars FC, Issah Najahu was recently confirmed as the goalkeeper’s trainer for the Black Stars to cap a remarkable career under his name.
Known as the Dondoli Wembley Park, the community based sports facility is set to be renamed as ‘Issah Najahu Park’ to honor the versatile sports icon.
Najahu, despite his pedigree on the sporting parlance, still participate in the annual inter community games at the Dondoli Park under the colors of Kayane-jaga, his immediate lineage.
Sources within the Dondoli Community confirmed to 442gh.com that the community park is the least they can use to appreciate the sporting excellence chalked by the son of the land.
Identified by his peers as ‘Pajaro’, Issah Najahu comes with a lengthy sporting CV that included African Cup of nations for the U17, U20, Black Queens and several World Cup appearances with the junior national teams.
A grand sporting event will be staged at the Dondoloi community park to officially name the facility after Issah Najahu.
The former Wa All Stars FC goalkeeper is currently the goalkeeper’s trainer for Legon Cities FC.
