GPL: Great Olympics Head Coach Says He’ll Quit if Team Fails to Win First Five Matches

The Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Isaac Nii Armah, has come out to state categorically that he’ll step down if his outfit fail to win their five matches of the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.

Olympics and Kumasi King Faisal were reinstated into the top flight at this year’s GFA Congress following after a series of unsuccessful legal tussles with the GFA.

Speaking to Muftawu Nabila on Kwesi Free Sports Isaac Nii Armah put his coaching job on the line that he’ll gladly resign if his team fails to win their first five games in order to save his reputation.

”We want to win all the five matches at the start of the season. We have named it “Operation 15 points” but then, if after the first seven matches, Olympics do not have the points needed to stay up in the league, I will resign because I want to keep my self-respect and dignity intact“.

He however didn’t allow his conviction to take the better part of him as he quickly let the popular cliche “anything can happen in football” out of his lips.

Olympics will play away to Ashanti Gold in their first game, host Aduana Stars, and travel to Bechem to take on Bechem United. Play at home against Karela United before traveling to Cape Coast to take on Elmina Sharks.
