AFCON U-23: Below Average Black Meteors Earns Draw From Losing Position
Ghana Black Meteors got a vital point as they fought back from a losing position to earn a 1-1 draw against Cameroon in their first game in the ongoing CAF U-23 tournament in Egypt.
The first half was nothing to right home about as they appear disjointed, failed to string common passes together. But the Cameroonians were not any better as they also squandered the few chances that came their way.
The opening exchanges of the second half looked to be an improvement on the previous half until Evina Frank broke the deadlock on the 59th minute.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko made use of all the his substitutions on the night by introducing Samuel Obeng, Emmanuel Lomotey and Evans Osei in that order as they labored and fought for the equalizer.
Habib Mohammed on the 87th minute just 3 minutes to full time, latched on Kwabina Owusu’s botched strike and pounced home for the equalizer.
Ghana Evans Mensah won the Total Man of the Match award.
