Breaking: New Ghana Premier League to Begin in Mid-December

Reports in the local media landscape has it that the government of Ghana is pushing for the return of the Ghana Premier League as soon as possible.

Election is around the corner and Government is believed to be pressing hard for the resumption of the League in order to switch focus and attention and to soak the pressure during election year.

So the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season may start in mid-December with government set to be the main sponsors of the new season.

According to our sources, GNPC and Ghana Gas have reportedly agreed to support the Government to bring back football after a long while.

The 2017/2018 season was halted following the airing of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s exposé on corruption in football in the country.
