Afcon 2021 Qualifier: Head Coach James Kwasi Appiah names squad ahead of Black Stars double header against Bafana Bafana and Sao Tome and Principe

Head Coach of the senior national side, James Kwasi Appiah has announced his squad ahead of the Black Stars double header encounter against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 Afcon Qualifier

Kwasi Appiah named a 23 man squad ahead of the matches with debuts call ups for Spanish league duo Iddrisu Mohammed and Mohammed Salisu, former Hearts of Oak player Torric Jebril as well as German based Christopher Antwi Adjei with Harrison Afful also making a return to the squad after missing out on the last Afcon tournament

General captain Asamoah Gyan misses out on the squad as youngster Kudus Mohammed and Emmanuel Boateng all included in the team

Only two local players made the squad with goalkeeper Felix Annan and striker Shafiu Mumuni both on the list

Ghana will host South Africa on the 14th of November at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before travelling to play Sao Tome and Principe on the 18th of November

The Stars are to begin training in Cape Coast from Monday, November 11 with the team expected to make one training session a day
