Black stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah was influential for Yeni Malatyaspor in their 4-0 demolishing of Kayserispor at home in the Turkish top-flight league on Sunday afternoon
The midfielder played the whole game as his two assists on the day helped power his club to a resounding victory against compatriot Bernard Mensah who also played the full 90 minutes for the losing side
Afriyie teamed up perfectly for Mitchell Donald to open the scoring on the day in the 14th minute as they went to the break with a goal advantage
Adis Jahovic made it 2-0 for Malatyaspor in the 77th minute of the match before Afriyie grabbed his second assist of the match after he beautifully set up Congolese international Thievy Bifouma to score the third goal of the match
It turns from bad to worse for Kayserispor in the 90th minute as Romanian goalkeeper Silviu Lung Jnr scored an own goal to make it 4-0 for the home side
The assists are Acquah’s only assists so far in the season since joining the club this summer
Following the resounding victory, Malatyaspor sits third on the league table after nine matches with sixteen points. Next is a weekend clash away from home against Kasimpasa on Sunday, November 3
