HOMOWO CUP: Hearts of Oak Wins on Spot Kicks to Lift Homowo Cup

Hearts of Oak have lifted the 2019 Homowo cup after beating city rivals Great Olympics on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Hearts of Oak hit the ground running with some beautiful display, controlling possession and dominating with most part of the game.

Great Olympics were too cautious and tried most of the times reacting to their opponents tactical approach instead imposing their game plan on the Phobians.

Mitchelle Sarpong open the scoring in the 70th minute with a powerful carpet shot past goalie Ben Mensah, but Olympics had other plans as they responded almost immediately with the equalizer through Iddrisu.

Regulation time was not enough to decide the game as they switched to spot kicks. And Hearts won 3-1 after Olympics missed three kicks.
