The team last night defeated favourites Ivory Coast 3-1 in the semi finals after a masterclass from AshantiGold’s attacker Shafiu Mumuni
The coach in an interview after the game said ” I will first of all thank the Almighty Allah for guiding the team this far in the competition”
Coach Maxwell Konadu and his side will be heading to their second successive final in the competition and are hoping to win the trophy for the third time in the competition history
Coach Najahu further added ” It has been tough throughout the tournament but we are really happy to have advanced to the finals and hopefully we can go on to lift it for the second successive time and the third time as well in the competition’s history”
Team captain Shafiu Mumuni made history last night after scoring the first ever hat-trick in the competition’s history and his fourth of the competition
” The performance of the team wasn’t the best but the most important thing is the victory last night and really happy for the team especially the captain for his inspiring and influential role on the night”
Coach Najahu and the team will be making history should they lift the trophy on Sunday
” It will be absolute joy come Sunday should we lift the trophy for a second successive time and am glad to be part of the set-up and hopefully we can deliver the trophy for Ghanaians”
On the goal Ghana conceded on the night, the coach said ” Such errors is part of the profession. Antwi has been phenomenal for the team throughout the competition and he will learn from the mistake going forward”
The Black Stars B will face winners of Senegal vs Mali in the finals on Sunday
