Europe: Black Meteors midfielder Majeed Ashimeru scores as Red Bull Salzburg thrash Austria Wien

Black Meteors midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was in superb form for the Austrian bundesliga leaders Red Bull Salzburg at home as they thrashed Austria Wien 4-1 on Saturday afternoon

The midfielder played 90 minutes and was on the score sheet as well

Red Bull Salzburg came to the game on the back of seven wins and a draw so far in the new bundesliga season whiles opponent Austria Wien came to clash on the back four defeats, two draws and two wins so far in the season

Austria Wien opened the scoring as early as the second minute of the match through an own goal from Albert Vallci before Majeed Ashimeru scored in the 33rd minute of the match to draw level for Red Bull Salzburg

Malian forward Sekou Koita made it 2-1 for Red Bull Salzburg with two minutes to half time

Japanese striker Masaya Okugawa scored in the 55th minute of the game to make it 3-1 in favour of the home side before Sekou Koita grabbed his second of the afternoon with eleven minutes to end the match to give Red Bull Salzburg a convincing victory at home

The goal is Majeed’s second of the new Austrian bundesliga campaign

Salzburg remain top of the table in the league with 25 points after 9 matches. Next is a round 10 clash at home against SC Rheindorf Altach on Saturday, October 5
