PREVIEW! UWR TVET INTER SCHOOL/ ZONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL 2025

The Festival engaged in by TVET institutions started 2023 in 2023 with Wa Technical Institute hosting the first edition, then followed St. Basilide’s Technical Institute in 2024.

When it comes to sports related activities, all the TVET institutions in Upper West Region are currently grouped into six (6) zones.

These zones are;

1. Wa Central ( Naa Momori and Nakore Technical Institutes )
2. Wa west ( Wa Technical and Gratis foundation )
3. Nadowli Kaleo ( Nadowli TVS, Tibani and St. Basilide Technical Institutes )
4. Tumu ( St. Clare institute )
5. Nandom ( St. Johns, St Annes and Guo Technical Institutes )
6. DBI ( Issa Technical Institute )
   The 3rd edition of this festival is coming on and the details are
   Host institution ; DBI ( Issa Technical Institute )

The much anticipated Festival kicks off on Sunday July 27th and ends on August 2nd 2025.

This Year’s festival will witness events such as;

1. Football ( both genders )
2. Volleyball ( both genders )
3. Handball ( both genders )
4. Netball ( female only )
5. Badminton ( both gender )
6. Table tennis ( both gender )
7. Athletics

Interestingly, TVET shifted away from the usual and normal way of scoring and thus adopted the medal system in scoring their competitions and so the challenge and bragging rights usually beckons on the zone that has the appropriate medals in a particular season.

Last year, Wa West Zone topped the chat with so many gold medals than all other zones.
