Caf CC: RS Berkane names new head coach ahead of second leg clash against AshantiGold SC

Moroccan side RS Berkane have made a huge step in their preparations for the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup tier against AshantiGold SC

The Moroccan giants played the first leg in Obuasi without a permanent head coach following the sacking of their coach before the clash

The club have named former FC Porto star Tarik Sektioui as their new manager

The ex Atlas Lions international’s first game at helm of RS Berkane will be against AshantiGold SC in the Caf Confederation Cup return leg at home

“Tarik Sektioui is the new manager of RS Berkane, replacing Mounir Jaouaani. The former Porto winger is coming from Moghreb Tétouan, where he didn’t lead the team in a single match before terminating his contract. This will be his first big test as head coach,” the Club announced on their Twitter handle

He joins last season’s finalist in the CAF from Moghreb Tétouan, where he did not take charge of any game with the club

RS Berkane head into the second leg trailing AshantiGold SC by 2-3 following their defeat in Obuasi last weekend

Tarik Sektioui made 18 appearances for Morocco between 2001-2008
He has as well featured for clubs such as Auxerre, Willem II, AZ Alkmaar, FC Porto, Ajman club and Maghreb Fez
